“Snow Dog Does A Grab”
inspiration
I am honored again this year to contribute to the LaPlata County Humane Society “Powder Hounds Art Auction 2024”. My collaborator Riley Nash created Snow Dog’s board from recycled plastic. Riley is the owner of Scavenge Plastics, where he creates useful and artistic objects from recycled plastic. Kudos to Riley!
technique
I formed the armature with chicken wire, covered it with plaster of paris and applied multiple layers of extra heavy gesso with a palette knife. Her mittens are made of epoxy and painted with acrylic paint.
materials
Chicken wire, plaster of paris, heavy gesso, epoxy, acrylic paint, aluminum wire and Riley’s recycled plastic snowboard. She wears teal goggles.
Snowboard 30” x 8” She stands about 14” tall.
