“The Tomato Thief”

inspiration

Ravens visit our garden every year when the tomatoes are ripe and plentiful. We are happy to share with these beautiful, intelligent birds.

technique

The armature is created with wire, covered by foil, acrylic sheets are shaped into feathers, coated with extra heavy gesso and painted with acrylic paint. Iridescent wax was added for sheen to the feathers with antiquing wax. The base is a beautiful slab of granite.

Wire, foil, acrylic sheets, extra heavy acrylic gesso, acrylic paint, epoxy and granite stone base provided by Jonathan at 2180 Lighting and Design. Thank you, Jonathan!
